Data Deletion Policy

How WhatKind handles data deletion requests

What Data We Delete

When you submit a data deletion request, we remove:

•

Profile information (name, username, avatar, bio)

•

Posts, comments, and reactions you created

•

Saved posts and feed preferences

•

Direct messages and conversation history

•

Search history and feed interaction logs

•

Location history stored for ride-hailing

Data We May Retain

Some information is kept for legal, financial, and safety reasons:

•

Transaction and payment records for periods required by applicable financial and tax laws

•

Identity verification documents (NRC, licence) for active finance agreements

•

Fraud and abuse investigation records

•

Records required by law enforcement or court orders

•

Anonymised, aggregated analytics that cannot identify you

How to Request Data Deletion

You have two options:

•

In-app: Open Settings → Danger Zone → Request Account Deletion, or visit the account deletion request page while signed in.

•

Outside the app: Send an email from your registered address to support@whatkind.app with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Include whether you want your entire account or specific data deleted. We may ask for identity verification to protect your account.

•

Request status: We will confirm that the request was received, then contact you when processing has finished or if additional information is required.

Processing Time

We aim to process eligible account and personal data deletion requests within 30 days. Submitting a request does not immediately delete the account. Some records may be retained for a longer legally required period and then deleted in accordance with applicable rules.

Withdrawal

If you change your mind within 14 days, contact us before the deletion window closes. Once deletion is complete, it cannot be reversed.

Third-Party Data

Where applicable, we will send appropriate deletion requests to service providers (including payment, video-hosting and cloud-storage providers) subject to their obligations and retention rules. Finance partners may act as separate data controllers and may need to retain records for their own legal obligations.
